Former Ohio State Star Terry Glenn Arrested for Car Theft : The ...

Former Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State receiver Terry Glenn has been arrested in Irving on a charge of auto theft, according to court records.

Terry Glenn’s last game for the Cowboys was a home playoff loss to the New York Giants in January 2008 and last played for OSU in 1995.

Glenn, 35, was booked into the Irving jail around 7 p.m. Tuesday and released about 1 a.m. today.

He could not be reached immediately for comment.

His attorney, Luis Vera of San Antonio, said the matter stemmed from a dispute over a black Chevrolet Suburban that Glenn had rented from National Car Rental at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

His client never should have been arrested, Vera said.

“It is the biggest crock of garbage,” he said. “It pisses me off because this is not the first person I’ve had to represent who the rental car companies have done this to.”

Vera said Glenn rented the Suburban several weeks ago because his Bentley was in a crash.

“His car was put in the shop,” Vera said. “The insurance company tells him just go rent a car.”

Vera said Glenn rented the SUV before going to New York City for the holidays.

The car company had Glenn’s credit card and could have charged whatever was owed, Vera said.

“He wasn’t even using it,” Vera said of the Suburban. “He just left it parked there at his house.”

Glenn got back from New York on Monday and was heading to D/FW to return the SUV on Tuesday, Vera said.

That was when he was pulled over in a routine traffic stop just off State Highway 114 near Spur 348 and Riverside Drive, police said.

The officers who pulled him over told him the car had been reported stolen and arrested him.

“He didn’t steal anything; he didn’t need to steal anything,” Vera said.

“Terry’s a good guy. He’s already upset because he’s getting beat up with this in the media.”
